Here's another Sheena drawing. This one was really fun. I enjoyed drawing the cartoony Sheena, but for what I have in mind for her, I think this approach is more appropriate. She's almost there...
Nice Chris! There's something very "Tank Girl" about this latest Sheena piece! Wonderful color choices and I can most definitely see the "Clowes" in the way you chose to handle the color, especially in experimenting with the colored cross-hatching often found in Clowes' finished drawings. Oddly enough, I think my favorite part of the piece is the way you handled her socks and shoes:) They feel very well rendered. They have a believability to them, and a very convincing weight. Kudos CG! Beautiful work!
And y'know, she also has a wonderful "Jaime Hernandez" feel too. Check out "Love and Rockets" to see what I mean. She's wonderfully full figured, which is refreshing to see in a character creation.
Damn. I'm giving up. this schtuff is soooo feckin' inspiring. So, i guess that means I won't give up...i'll just keep trying and crying and getting beat by my wife. Very, very nice stuff.
extremely pretty work, CHRIS GEORGE!, but I prefer the cartoonier ones you'd posted earlier. That's just me. You and your freakin' sense of color are uncanny, in either case...
Might as well jump in on this bandwagon. Too cool. Love the extra detail. Those gloves! Looks like it should be in the pages of some Dark Horse book. Also like the earlier ones too. whatcha gonna do with this character?
- Matt, funny you should mention Dark Horse. I'd been thinking of developing Sheena and her world into a comic, and thought it might feel at home there... We'll see.
- Carly, I'm flattered! I'm going to have to stop by your blog once I finish writing this.
This is a terrific piece of art. I love her design. You kept her with real anatomy but you still have her looking cartoony. I love it. All your work is great but his one is my favorite. -joe b.
